I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2007, I graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano/Trombone Performance. Performing all over the world has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play in Hollywood on American Idol, Hong Kong, Costa Rica, United Kingdom, Bahamas, Puerto Rico with the former lead singer from Journey, and many other places around the United States. While I have a basic method in lessons with certain techniques, exercises, and repertoire to be drilled and mastered, I will try to adapt and modify my approach for the needs and personality of the student. I like to use supplementary materials if a method book isn't covering musical territory that the student wants to explore. Although I insist a student learn to read music, I encourage learning by ear and have helped students find a melody on the piano by ear rather than reading notes. Patience is my watchword but I will always encourage and document practice times. I tell the student, you can't achieve your music goals without practice, preferably every day. Read More
