My guitar playing is based on feeling, so every note that I play or write on a song has some meaning to me, I am not going to play whatever just to fill up space in your record or live shows. Keeping in mind that I am from Chile, I have a different spice in my sound that you can find in Latin American artists. I am a big fan of Cumbia, Bachata, and dancing rhythms that you dont commonly find in the USA. Read More

With students that are full beginners, I like to start them out with some reading to show them how time is divided and how to identify notes on the staff. I've found that finding notes on the staff helps them learn the notes on the fretboard faster and easier. I use a book called Guitar Method Book 1 by Hal Leonard. For students who are more advanced, I will focus on their time feel, sound, and music theory. Read More

I start my students with the basics proper hand positioning, finger strength exercises, and a focus on posture. These fundamentals are the building blocks that pave the way for a lifetime of musical growth. As we progress, I emphasize the importance of scales, arpeggios, and technical exercises to enhance dexterity and finger coordination. Central to classical piano training is the standard repertoire, which offers a rich tapestry of musical history and a diverse range of challenges. Read More
Instruments: Guitar Drums
For beginning students who aren't quite sure what path they'd like to take in drumming, I like to start by teaching out of Joel Rothman's Basic Drumming, which will help build a solid foundation of the fundamentals that will be essential for being any style of drumming. But my ultimate goal is to let you guide your own journey, and we can focus on diving deeper into more advanced exercises, fine-tuning your technique, improving your pocket, time, and feel, learning to play your favorite songs and why the drums make them so good, composing your own parts, songs, or solos, and truly any aspects of your drumming you'd like to improve! Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, its important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress and this makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the students, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

Teaching has been a constant through my musical journey, mainly in person. I have not had the opportunity to be as consistent, because of my performance schedule. Online learning platforms have begun to open my eyes to endless opportunities. Both the challenge and the reenforced learning have been the most rewarding teaching experiences. No two students are alike, so understanding an individual's learning style and interests in music is the best approach. Read More

I grew up in a musical family and my father was the rhythm guitarist for Michael Jackson for up to 30 years.I recently moved back to Los Angeles after attending The Master's School in Dobbs Ferry, New York, where I began my study in composition and theory. After graduating from the Master's School I went on to graduate from Sarah Lawrence where I continued my theoretical and compositional studies. I am able to integrate theoretical knowledge to basic folk songs. Read More
