For beginning students, I usually like to start off teaching basic guitar fundamentals. We would go over guitar methods such as fingerstyle exercises, left hand exercises, chords, and basic sight-reading. After the student has considerably grasped basic fundamentals, I would start introducing repertoire appropriate for their reading level. For more advanced students, we would work on more advanced musical concepts such as phrasing, articulation, and tone control. I also try to keep my lessons relaxed and comfortable. Read More

My passion for music began in 1994 when my father bought me two Freddy Mercury CDs. Shortly after,i decided to buy a guitar. I started my classicalguitar lessons with a well know classical guitar teacher at the time in my town. After receiving music awards in several national competitionsas well as invitations to perform at the Fajr international festival of music, I decided to dedicate my life professionally to the classical guitar. So I decided to emigrate to Spain, a country with rich classical guitar tradition. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

I believe that choosing lesson material should always be a collaborative experience between student and teacher. Flexibility is one of my core values in teaching music, as I’ve found that each student has unique interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses. Rather than going into lessons with a set curriculum, I like to give students some agency over what they’d like to learn while making sure to cover fundamentals as they apply along the way. Read More

I have been teaching guitar, formally, for a little over two years. I currently am teaching students through my own business and other student referral websites. Teaching is key to any career musician's income, my love of teaching is not strictly monetary. To help students set goals, work towards their dreams and realize their potential is an experience I wouldn't want anyone to miss. Besides the joys of being of service and seeing the light come on in my student's eyes, teaching keeps me on my toes, always learning new things and progressing my own musical dreams. Read More

Immediately after graduation, I moved to Los Angeles to enroll at the Musicians Institute (MI) Drum Performance Program, granted with two scholarships, the ‘Musicianship Scholarship’ and the ‘International Musicians Merit Scholarship’. I am very proud of the 15+ years of teaching music and the formal training I had in Music Education and at MI. In 2015, I had the opportunity to teach symphonic percussion to teenagers at Escola de Música da OSPA (Porto Alegre’s Symphony Orchestra school). Read More

My methods are geared toward the individual. Oftentimes I might start with a methods book for a beginner, but supplement it with musical choices by the individual. In selecting these choices, I find ways to simplify the music so that the student is able to be able to play it. My method is also based on questions that the student might ask. So while we will have an approach that is organized and structured, I find that addressing seemingly unrelated musical questions, can actually be incorporated into the tasks at hand. Read More
