At our first lesson, we will dive into what YOU want to learn. It's my job as a teacher to facilitate a creative and challenging learning environment, but it's up to you, the student, to make the time we spend together something you would like to work on. I'm confident that we can both find common ground to stand on and find some great music to explore. Beginners will always use some sort of method book, learn to read music and rhythms. Read More

I try to get to know the students as best as I can. I will ask them about their interests in music and outside of music. I also will learn what their weaknesses and strengths are and push them to improve all around. I have a pretty laid back style of teaching. My goal to encourage them, rather than make them feel bad or frustrated. I will simply tell them if they are sounding good, or I will tell them what they can do to sound better. Read More

I teach kids with Frederick Noad's Guitar Solo Playing and also I adopt the guitar curriculum created by Austin Classical Guitar. Both methods provide several pieces that the kid plays with the teacher. In this way, while the kids play simple notes/lines and start developing some skills (musical and technical), they are making beautiful music together with the teacher or other students. I worked as a teacher assistant using the Austin Guitar Curriculum at Adams Elementary School (St Louis), and the results were great. Read More

I have been teaching since 2008. I thoroughly enjoy teaching students of all ages because I can relate to students who are learning and trying to progress in their instrument as I can remember being in their position when I started learning music. Seeing students progress and improve as a result of helping them, I find to be one of the most rewarding aspects for me personally. It’s never too late to start learning no matter what age you are. I am very fortunate to have worked with great teachers, who not only inspired me to play the guitar at a very high level but also to desire to pass on that knowledge to my students. I am very passionate about working with all my students. I strive to make every student comfortable, but gently nudge them to become the best musician they possibly can. I encourage students to get ready and perform on stage and in front of an audience as soon as possible. Read More
