20 years of playing and over 15 years of teaching experience. Over 15 years of live performance expeince playing with various musical acts. Radio play on KXLU, KBOO, guest performance on The Carson Daly Show.
I began teaching back in my high school days when local grade school students were in need of a teacher to continue their studies over the summer. I later took numerous pedagogy courses in college that only added to and solidified my skills as an experienced cello teacher. I always encourage consistent and smart practicing, and I provide students with method and scale books, as well as fun exercises to do with them. I believe that students should always have fun, but the should also learn as much as they can, and I make those two points my top priorities. I love getting to know students and figuring out what inspires them and motivates them!
I have been teaching music for 10 years. In that time I have taught in 3 major cities, or 2 continents both privately and through respected insitutions such as the Hollywood Academy of Music and Brooklyn Guitar School. During my most recent time in New York (over 2 years), I maintained a roster of 15-20 private weekly students, throughout the 5 boroughs. Working with different students from different backgrounds in multiple cities has greatly informed my teaching and stoked my passion for passing on my musical knowledge.
My name is Tyler! I'm from Pennsylvania, where I learned music from an early age! I started formal percussion/drumset, piano, and guitar lesons at age 8 and I have not stopped! Music became my life shortly after then. I eventually left high school senior year to enroll in cyber school because I joined a pop rock girl-fronted band. We were very grateful to have toured the country playing under some of music's biggest bands every night. I applied to the Unviersity of the Arts and subsequently left the band to pursue higher education within music. I studied classical/jazz vocal performance and music education for 3 years, then switched my major to Music Business for the last 2 full years. I graduated in May and made the big move to Los Angeles to continue my spirutal journey. My learning and performing experiences reflect my teaching pedagogies and approaches!
My methods are versatile. I always aim my lesson goals toward the student. Every student is unique, and they all want to learn something different. If someone has never played music before, I will start them off with basic scales and chords. If they have played before, I will listen to them play for me first so I know where they stand as a musician. I will customize each lesson for each individual. If a student wants to learn Metallica, I will start them off with heavy power chords and distortion effects followed by some lead soloing techniques and scales. If a student wants Bob Marley, I will teach them open chords and bar chords followed by up beat rhythms to get them warmed up on that style of music. It all comes down to the genre the student wants to learn. After each student learns the techniques and style of playing well enough, I have a goal for every body to play to the recording by the band that student loves the most. Playing to the album is the best way to turn a beginning student in to a professional.

Rahsaan is an extremely talented player who relates really well with my teenagers. He has them both interested in learning. Given Rahsaan's expertise, it's clear that even though they are beginners now, they can learn from him for a long time to come. He's a real nice laid-back guy and both the boys really enjoy their time with him. I've been very impressed and pleased with the experience.

He is incredibly patient and really customizes his teaching style to the child. Both of my children are learning piano with him; they have learned so much and really enjoy the lessons. In fact, my daughter asked to learn another instrument (guitar) with him and is making great progress with that, too.

Michael is exactly what I was looking for in a teacher. The first thing he did was to determine what I wanted to get out of lessons, and what my existing skill level is. He is now aiming me in the right direction - and he is clearly skilled, experienced and knowledgeable, in addition to being very easy to get along with. I'm very happy.

Darrell is A-Maz-Ing! He demands results from his students and therefore results come quickly. The time he spends teaching is intense and packed with great instruction. He is a tough teacher but offers lots of valuable instruction that is applicable for music as well as life in general. I highly recommend Darrell if you are ready for results!

She is amazing! My daughter, Isabella (7 yrs) is totally engaged in the lesson. Lilly's definitely has a gift with teaching young children!!! A great talent of hers is making the content interesting, current to today's music and most of all fun! She has a knack for taking the material and translating it in a way that is relatable to Isabella. My daughter really enjoys her lesson's and has moved along rather quickly with the material. Thanks Lilly!

thank you musika and ed. I never thought of looking for an in-home lesson until I found musika. I have absolutely no hesitation that Ed is beyond capable. He's even offered to meet us at a music store to purchase the correct fitting instrument. how fabulous is that! We've also decided to extend the lesson time from 30 to 45 minutes. All this and just one lesson under our belt. He quickly understood where my daughter is at in level and her style of music. I'm thrilled as can be.

Mrs. Regnarene is an awesome teacher!!! She found musical aids that appealed to my 5 year old daughter and used them to help teach her piano. She has a lot of patience and I could tell she puts in the work before class to have a lesson ready for my daughter. She is always punctual, friendly and respectful. I would recommend her to any parents who want to start their kids off with a good foundation in piano. Jermain T. Riverview, FL

Erin has been a wonderful voice/piano teacher for our 7 year old daughter. She is talented, patient, and has a wonderful demeanor. She has been consistent with her teaching in piano and voice. She keeps record of where the students leave off so that they know what to expect the following week. I would definitely recommend Erin to anyone looking for a skilled piano/voice teacher.
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
