All lessons are customized to meet the individual needs and interests of each and every student. Instruction is open to everyone with a love for music and a desire to learn, regardless of age or previous musical experience. I teach fingerstyle playing on nylon and steel-string acoustic guitar. In addition, I teach beginning piano and ukulele. I don't use one specific method book. Over the years, I have developed my own method that I then tailor to each student, depending on their objectives and goals. Read More

We learn the music you want to learn when you study with me! The very first lesson I ask the student what he or she is inspired by. We then work towards those songs, in a step by step gradual process. Along the way fundamentals about rhythm, the musical alphabet and theory are taught within the context of the song we are learnning. This makes the lessons moreenjoyable and relatableto the student's deisred outcomes. Read More

I try to get to know the students as best as I can. I will ask them about their interests in music and outside of music. I also will learn what their weaknesses and strengths are and push them to improve all around. I have a pretty laid back style of teaching. My goal to encourage them, rather than make them feel bad or frustrated. I will simply tell them if they are sounding good, or I will tell them what they can do to sound better. Read More

I decided to offer piano and general music lessons while I was attending college. It turned out to be very fun and rewarding to see my students begin to understand and apply the concepts I taught them. Creating my own teaching style and curriculum was difficult, but learning from my peers was a great experience and very helpful. I also assisted in my Studio Ensemble class to teach arrangers and composers the general rules of writing and advanced theory. Read More

I began teaching guitar lessons at the early age of 17, and have continued to make private instruction a mainstay of my professional career ever since. Working with students across all ages and abilities, in my home studio or travelling to them, my passion for teaching has only grown over time. I find no greater delight than seeing the smile on the face of a new student who is getting those first few chords under their fingers, or helping an advanced student tackle a tricky riff or progression. For beginning students, I like to teach simple and fun tunes that get them excited. I focus on single-note licks/melodies, and will gradually add open-chord progressions and songs to the curriculum. It's best to practice everyday even for 5-10 minutes, rather than every other day or few days for a longer period in my opinion. Once they start improving, I'll gradually teach more challenging songs that'll keep them engaged, but not overwhelmed. Read More

I am a musician who has already studied in three conservatories and four universities. I have been teaching private lessons for fifteen years and group classes for ten years. I graduated with a Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A) in may 2017. From 2013 to 2017, I was teaching theory, group guitar class, private lessons and guitar ensemble at UNLV. According to my experience as a teacher, flexibility and adaptation are two necessary skills in lessons/classes. Read More
