I am a guitarist residing inOrange County who performs in the ambient, folk, and Celtic genres. My influences in these genres are Leo Kottke, Antoine Dufour, Andy McKee, Laurence Juber and others. I have become a distinguished and reputed artist on the West Coast. In February 2010, I performed with Thomas Dolby and string quartet Ethel in opening the TED2010 conference, an annual gathering of paramount figures in technology, entertainment and design. Read More

I teach to inspire fun and love in music and to give the student a sense of accomplishment in their progress. Once I know the student I can cater the teaching style to their individual needs. In my experience, a young student must see results, they need to know they aren't treading water, so I believe it's imperative to keep the student engaged and fully aware of how they're progressing. I cater my teaching curriculums to the student's interest and proficiency level. The first lesson would involve a discussion about what initially drew the student to the guitar, what genres they love, and what they hope to get out of the class. Next, we will go through the fundamentals, as appropriate for the student's skill level. After we've established a clear vision and certain rhythm of doing things, I would assign 15-20mins of warm-ups for each lesson -- tailoring the warmup exercises to specific techniques that the student wants to improve in. For beginning students I typically teach using Frederick Noad's Solo Guitar Playing I. We eventually progress to Andres Segovia's Diatonic Major and Minor Scales then Scott Tenant's Pumping Nylon. For more advanced students we would often jump into simple pieces by Ferdinando Carulli followed by Opus 60 by Matteo Carcassi and Estudios Sencillos by Leo Brouwer. Students who are dedicated and consistently practice are playing pieces by Sor, Guliani, Tarrega, Villa-Lobos and the like usually with in six months. Read More

My teaching style is fun and relaxed but still making sure that you are learning something new in every class, I was a beginner at some point and it brings me joy seeing how the students discover the guitar for the first time because it reminds me of myself when I was just learning. I help set realistic goals to keep the student motivated and guide the student to reach small achievements every week so they can see how fast they can progress with private classes. Read More

I currently play guitar for international-touring Video Game Metal band Powerglove, as well as national-touring Progressive Metal band Lattermath. My teaching experience goes back almost 8 years ago. I had joined a worship band for the church and one of the guitar players asked me for lessons to help him better understand how to play in a band. I traveled to his home and several others by word of mouth. A few years later I launched my own private lessons out of my home. Continually my personal lessons, I then worked part time with a private music academy for 5 years. Read More
