I began teaching privately about ten years ago. This occurred rather organically by having conversations with people in which they expressed interest in either learning a new instrument, or expanding on their preexisting skills. Though I do have a formal music education, I did start off self-taught, learning songs from my favorite bands and artists. Because of this, I use a combination of assigned songs and songs requested by the student to help build and conceptually realize their facility on their instrument, as well as basic scale and chord theory. I am a passionate musician who loves to share knowledge of music to students. I started learning guitar at age 5, and for nearly 20 years guitar has been my instrument of choice! I'm a 2 time graduate from Musicians Institute where I was awarded with a scholarship. I majored in Guitar Performance and Independent Artist. In 2015 I was accepted to perform with the schools Honors Ensemble. I became a touring session musician as well as a private instructor for music schools in Los Angeles, now I'm currently playing lead guitar for the bands: Worldwide Panic, Angeles For Sale, and 210 Suite. Every person is different as every student is different, so I make a point to cater to the individual and not get locked into an umbrella method of teaching. I make myself available to each student to ask questions and get the most information out of whatever subject we might be discussing/learning. I make sure that each students needs get met by determining on day 1 of lessons what they want to get out of music and the instrument they are learning. Read More

I first started learning the guitar in high school. I found I had an affinity for the instrument so I continued to study classical guitar and piano in college. I first started giving lessons my junior year in college and have continued to teach ever since. I am also currently the music director for the Yorba Linda United Methodist Church in Yorba Linda California. My responsibilities there include: Arranging and directing music for both services and outreach/charitable activities, and providing one-on-one instruction for player/vocalist development. Read More

I offer a truly bespoke approach to each student, because all students are different, and your lessons should be tailored and unique to you. My personal training in voice was a very one-size-fits-all approach--if I couldn't do something in a certain way that my instructors wanted, I would often disappoint them, or continue to run up against a brick wall in my progress. My approach with my own students is the opposite--I provide my students options in order to achieve something vocally or technically, rather than having only one option. Read More

My teaching journey began over three years ago, initially working with students in my church and later expanding to private lessons. Over the years, Ive developed a teaching style that emphasizes consistent practice and encourages students to explore their passion for guitar. I believe that combining foundational techniques with a student's personal interestswhether in J-pop, classical, or other genreshelps foster a deeper connection with the instrument and keeps lessons engaging and enjoyable. As I mention in the paragraph before, my approach to teaching is based on the value of Your personal, unique voice. My main goal as instructor is way more important than teach you the usual, obsolete repertoire that most of the teacher use since the beginning of times, it is instead working on making the student a unique, unparalleled music individual, through the stimulation of improvisation, instinct, composition and having a great time jamming.
