I have an advanced level of experience in the following, Jazz, Chord Melody, Blues, Melodic Soloing, Harmony and Chord Theory, Ear Training, Fret Board understanding, and Songwriting. Most of this was honed while attending Musicians Institute. I was teaching on the side, but most of my time was spent writing, getting on stage, and growing within the industry. And that continues today. Today my living is built from teaching and working as a performing singer-songwriter throughout the city. Read More

During my time teaching at Victor Litz Music, where I taught for 12 years, I was lucky to work with one student who had severe dyslexia. Though he had difficulty in a classroom setting, this students general reading and musical skills blossomed over the course of several years of instruction. Through patience and a customized approach I was able to reach him in ways that, according to his parents, no other teacher was able to do. Read More

I have taught quite literally all ages. 5-75. Styles and lesson books used varied depending upon student and school. I usually taught Suzuki for violin, viola and classical guitar (tend to prefer Scott Tennant Pumping Nylon book for classical guitar though). And usually Faber Piano Adventures for young piano students. Eventually going to Clementi Sonatinas and Chopin Preludes. Also Mel Bay Modern Guitar for beginning rock/jazz guitarists. Then eventually going to Mickey Bakers Jazz Guitar books. Read More

I believe in getting the student interested in the concepts and styles themselves, i like to introduce them to different ways of playing and my main method is to show them how it can be exciting to play/learn. For eg, for someone who loves games, I would show them how to play chords and melody ( on a piano ) at the same time by using the Minecraft theme song as an example, or any game that they might know and enjoy so it gets them interested to want to play and learn, through that i will show them dfferent techniques and concepts, this way they are already enjoying what they are learning and at no point will not want to practice it on their own. My teaching style is supportive, structured, and adaptable to each students unique learning pace and goals. I create a positive and focused environment where students feel encouraged to explore their potential while building discipline and confidence. I balance technical work with musical expression, combining detailed feedback with motivation and patience. I believe in developing the whole musiciannot just the guitaristby integrating listening, analysis, and creative thinking into lessons. Whether working with beginners or advanced players, I maintain high standards while keeping lessons engaging and inspiring. Read More

lthough not a Speech Level Singing certified instructor, I have extensive training in SLS. As well as classical techniques such as Bel canto, I have studied modern techniques with the likes of CVT and Robert Lunte of TVS. We will find the areas that hold you back in your singing goals, and we will DEMOLISH them, and every vocal lesson will be recorded onto CD. Piano I am well versed in many of the Pop style Piano including Blues Piano, Funk, Singer-Songwriter, RB, country, as well as atmospheric or synth playing (EG, playing strings convincingly on a keyboard). For the beginner we start of with fundamental chord and note structure but I feel it is important to progress into applying these fundamentals to actually playing music as quickly as possible. Over the first few lessons I will learn what types of music the student is most interested in and will blend the lessons to include both what the student wants to learn with what the student needs to learn to become well rounded guitar player and musician. Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
