Acknowledging and celebrating a student's accomplishments is a crucial aspect of my teaching philosophy. Whether it's mastering a challenging piece, understanding a complex musical concept, or simply showing dedication and improvement, every achievement deserves recognition. The positive reinforcement from such acknowledgment serves as a powerful motivator for students. It stokes their desire to continue progressing and inspires them to delve deeper into the world of music. Watching their self-confidence grow with each accomplishment is, without a doubt, one of the most rewarding aspects of being a music teacher. Read More

My work extends beyond the stage, as I've had the privilege of recording and composing for acclaimed series like HBO's "Hacks" and Netflix's "Insiders." Collaborating with industry veterans such as Rob Lewis, known for his work with artists like Christina Aguilera, Fifth Harmony, and the Backstreet Boys, has been an inspiring part of my journey. Additionally, I've had the incredible opportunity to perform as a soloist with the Madrid Philharmonic Orchestra, presenting my composition "Espirales" and my piece "Murmullos," both of which received awards and were showcased at the prestigious Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando in Madrid, thanks to the support of the Fundacin Sax Ensemble. My passion and dedication for teaching led me to design a highly successful personal method, which both the beginning learner and those with a more advanced level will discover in my own notes, the answer to what will lead them to develop and grow artistically with the guitar. I also use methods and books from Hal leonard, Mel Bay and Alfred publications, as part of the contents if necessary for the development of the lessons. Read More

I have worked with some of the best in the business including Rick Rubin, John Shanks, and Jason Falkner, just to name a few. These experiences have given me the knowledge of being a musician in the real world, which I try and impart to my students. Read More

I've been teaching music in Los Angeles for 7 years! Upon arriving, I began studying guitar and everything else music at Musicians Institute in Hollywood California. It's here that I studied with a few jazz aficionados, perfected blues technique, studied chord theory and all inner workings of a song and it's structure, and more! Most importantly, I learned how to be a musician and artist. I began writing music, performing my songs and interacting with people all over the city. Read More

I tend to use standard materials, especially for beginning players. But I will also mix in exercises and techniques tailored specifically to the students needs. It is good to learn from books, but also important to vet information that is not necessarily needed or already soundly in their techniques. Every musician is unique and they have their own way about learning and progressing. For more advanced students, learning as much repertoire as possible will be stressed. Read More

For beginning students who are children, I usually start with technique exercises that will help develop the foundation of their playing. I do not introduce music notation usually until the fifth or sixth lesson. I believe that kids learn faster when they beginning learning by call and response or like many call imitation. By developing first the ability to listen and play by instinct a student can develop a stronger foundation in developing the beat and noticing high and low pitches. Read More
