I began teaching private lessons in electric guitar in 2016. I had been teaching to a wide range of students of different ages and musical backgrounds, from beginner to advanced. I have also taught in 2 musical schools (MUSA School of Music) and Los Olivos. Most of my students were mostly interested in Guitar Techniques and learning songs. In addition to that, I also teach Music Theory, Harmony, Arranging and Orchestration. I also encourage students to participate in bi-annual recitals which I put on in partnership with other music teachers in Santa Clarita, as performance is an excellent motivator for practice and consistency with lessons. My style is closer to the Russian style than to the American style. This tends to involve more discipline, an emphasis on focus and concentration, and a more direct communicative approach. I don't usually mince words, although I am very supportive and gentle. My students seldom suffer self-confidence problems, because we are always too concerned with improving ourselves. I assign brief, targeted technical exercises as a venue to work on foundational technical skills, and incorporate these skills as much as possible into musical application. My primary goal is to fill the student with the love of guitar and the passion to continue and grow. This is accomplished by continuing to challenge the student while keeping the process as interesting and fun as possible.
