I love painting landscapes with sounds. My goal is to share this way of looking at music with my students. I had been playing the guitar for 15+ years and I had been teaching electric guitar for 5+ years in group and personalized settings; with genres varying from Pop, Rock to Progressive metal and fusion. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2023 with a dual major in Professional Music (Performance, Jazz Composition and Composition) and Film Scoring. Read More

I began teaching ten years ago and enjoy it very much. I teach what my students want to learn, by asking them what music they listen to, and their favorite artists. To me, there's no point in teaching types of music the student has no interest in. I generally like to teach my lessons on a per-song basis, meaning we'll focus on a number of tunes, and can extract techniques and theory from those songs which in turn improve his/her playing. I am very fortunate to have worked with great teachers, who not only inspired me to play the guitar at a very high level but also to desire to pass on that knowledge to my students. I am very passionate about working with all my students. I strive to make every student comfortable, but gently nudge them to become the best musician they possibly can. I encourage students to get ready and perform on stage and in front of an audience as soon as possible. Read More

I am very flexible with my teaching methods and put together the best style matching the student's learning strengths. Furthermore, I update and change my methods if I feel the current method is becoming ineffective. I keep my lessons interactive with the student because the time is for the student to retrieve as much information as he/she can regarding their instrument and they can build a stronger week of preparation heading into the next lesson. Currently my most used methods are teaching via classical, pop & jazz, and Suzuki methods. Read More

If there's a particular method book the student and/or parent want to use, they're the boss. If not or addition to, I simply teach HOW to play the instrument. I show them how to hold it, wrist/elbow positions and muscle memory techniques which are very important early on so bad habits don't develop to where they're playing the instrument versus fighting it. This is something I do with every new student regardless of their level, because they sought out a teacher for a very good reason. Read More

I began teaching while in college in former USSR being a substitute teacher and assistant of my own guitar instructor. Later I began teaching on my own and continue doing so through my school years. So my total teaching experience spans for over 20 years now. I have had an opportunity to interact with a vast group of students who varied in their background, age ,educational level, abilities etc Teaching music is not just playing notes together, you have to create a teacher-student relationship. My methods for teaching involve the topics I learned in my Guitar Technique course. I introduce the CAGED System. Where basic open position chords are moved around the fretboard to cover scale shapes, and arpeggios. This is a great way to map the fretboard, and provide positions to improvise on solos. With this I also blend music theory in which I call the mixture "Fretboard Theory." Theory is what we cover in scales that tell what quality they have, (Major, Minor, ETC). Read More
