My teaching style is all about enjoying music and the instrument. I can pick up when a student is frustrated, confused or embarrassed and adjust the lesson accordingly. Overall, I want my students to have fun! I enjoy teaching how to read music and once a few notes are learned, I start applying it to songs that my students really enjoy. My teaching method is different depending on the abilities of each student. For beginning students, I use the Haskell W. Harr Drum Method Books 1 2, Stick Control by George Lawrence Stone, and The All-American Drummer 150 Rudimental Swing solos by Charley Wilcoxin. Once I feel like a student is strong enough on the snare drum, I will then work with them on developing limb independence on the drum set. I've had the opportunity to teach Ensemble music in a High school for students between 12-16 years old. Also did master classes for adults looking into genres like Boleros, Vals and Classical Music (Nylon Guitar). I've had 50= students doing private lessons with me and couldn't be happier of the results that they made with me.
