I use my own lesson plan. I'll start with Hal Leonard for young students, and hanon's virtuoso pianist for more advanced students. I'll use theory lessons mixed with what the student actually enjoys, because it's hard to learn what you're not interested in. I'm flexible and will adapt to the student's needs. I try to find what motivates the student to play, and guide them accordingly. Overall, the main objective is to keep the student engaged and happy about their progress, because all in all, music is about fun. Read More

I picked up my first guitar at the age of 13, and I've been addicted to it ever since. I graduated from Berklee College of Music in 2009 with a degree in Professional Music. I currently play guitar for international-touring Video Game Metal band Powerglove, as well as national-touring Progressive Metal band Lattermath. PowerGlove tours the US and Canada regularly with bands such as Dragonforce, mc chris, Symphony X, and Sonata Arctica. Read More

I have taught all ages from kindergarten to adults. All lessons are customized to meet the individual needs and interests of each and every student. Instruction is open to everyone with a love for music and a desire to learn, regardless of age or previous musical experience. I teach fingerstyle playing on nylon and steel-string acoustic guitar. In addition, I teach beginning piano and ukulele. I don't use one specific method book. Over the years, I have developed my own method that I then tailor to each student, depending on their objectives and goals. Read More

As soon as I meet with a student or a group of students, I make sure they are welcomed by an energetic teacher before getting started on their lesson. I try to keep the student(s) engaged by showing them different ways and approaches to music from books and my own personal approaches to help them grow knowing their teacher is well experienced. Since their is a lot for a percussionist than just playing with sticks on a drum, there is no doubt that the endless possibilities in teaching students the various instruments will help keep them engaged as well being more excited about music. I have been teaching for the last 14 years for other music schools as well as my home studio. I love to help new students from the ages of 4-99 in learning the joys of playing an instrument or instruments that they are going to enjoy. Nothing truly satifies me more than to see a student advance in their insturment as each lessons passes by. Daily quality and not quantity practice is something I like to encourage the student to be able to advance much faster in mastering the instrument. Read More
