I introduce scales right away and each student usually has a technique book. I also incorporate games into lessons for young students to keep it fun. As students advance I introduce sheet music and music they like. For adults, there are a couple of chord method books by Alfred and Faber available and I use those unless they request something specific to work on. It starts out very simple so students of all ages can learn and progress very quickly. I was born in Moscow, Russia, and moved to the United States as a child in the early 1970's. He studied violin and music composition at the New England Conservatory, Interlochen Arts Academy, the Tanglewood Institute, and Northwestern University. I have over 30 years of experience teaching and performing, playing concert halls such as Vienna's Musikverein and Boston's Symphony Hall. I am currently based in Los Angeles, California.
