I am using simple, but effective methods to explain a certain technique or concept. I want my students to understand a certain concept in a way that they could explain it to me. I do not dismiss my students from the lesson until they understand a certain technique that we are working on during the lesson. Each student is different. At first I try to see what's their passion, how much farther they want to learn, what style would they prefer, and more things about their preferences. I try my best to keep lessons fun, especially with the younger students. For example, Sometimes we play music games, sometimes we walk/dance to learn about rhythm, sometimes we sing. I also have small group practices each month to combine students at about the same level, they play togher, they perform for each other, make constructive suggestions and encourage each other.
