Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

I present a nurturing teaching environment where students are free to explore and express themselves, but they also know what's expected. I love fostering curiosity and creativity. I encourage students to bring in videos of great players and songs they've heard. It's my goal to help each student learn the instrument and feel comfortable with their movement so they can use the violin as an instrument of expression in all aspects of life. Read More

I usually beginwith warm-ups, scales, music theory, then continue with reviewing past homework, focusing on posture, rhythm, technique, etc. Lastly, we will sightread and preview the next pieces to be assigned for homework. Pace is set mostly by the student and how much they practice, but I will always nudge the student to improve in musicianship and posture after every lesson, with patience and perseverance. Read More

For my beginning piano students, I like to start with Alfreds performance books and music theory to help assist the note and music reading. My cello students that are still in the beginning stages I like to have using the Suzuki books to help work towards more advanced music and skills. My voice students are all very different so I shape our lesson methods based on what style of singing theyre interested in, but we always begin working on proper breathing and learning solfege. I maintained a private studio for three years of my time there, and have been instructing privately and in local schools since that time. I taught the students from beginners to very advanced college students in traditional classic way. I taught big string classes and private lessons in different levels. I was assistant professor in University of Mississippi for ten years and taught applied cello and string Bass lessons. Many of my students went to further professional studies and started their music career. And also, I have many students who went to other majors in college but still keeping very active in the area of music, playing community orchestra, start their own private chamber music group, become very positive part of their community.
