Instruments: Piano Drums Bass Guitar Double Bass Oboe English Horn Music

I began teaching private lessons in 2018 for double bass, electric bass, jazz theory, repertoire and improvisation. After graduating from Berklee I began teaching bass for the Hopkinton Music Association, a non-profit supporting music education in Hopkinton Public Schools. In 2023 I was hired as a music teacher for Note-worthy Experiences Music Studio and Karen Amlaw Music, where I taught bass, oboe, and English horn. I love to help students find their artistic voices and discover the joy in music making. Read More

I began teaching during my last year of college, when I was invited to give a series of lecture-performances and masterclasses in Hangzhou, China. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it; the most rewarding parts of my China tour was my time spent coaching young pianists in music schools. I started teaching privately a year ago; though my studio is small, I am extremely dedicated to my students and their progress and I look forward to including more people in this journey. Read More

Voice methodology is to learn how to make the correct sound on the flow of breath.  One must learn how to breathe whether singing loudly or softly in whichever style or genre the student wants to learn. String playing can be hard on the ears when beginning, therefore it is important to develop a good bow technique in order to make the best sound possible.  I use the All For Strings method books. I have taught elementary, middle, and high school music and have enjoyed each experience. I was teaching chorus, class keyboard, music theory, music appreciation, and modern band ensemble. I always want for my students to feel successful which is why I not only encourage their practicing but provide specific details on what they need to practice so they feel the most successful and know exactly what they need to practice. I believe that learning how to sing must take place in the studio, but the most important thing that I can do as a teacher is to make sure that the student knows how to transfer the skills learned in the classroom to real-world performing experiences. APPROACH I believe in a holistic approach to teaching, which involves connection to the text and acting. Though I cover many of these aspects in the studio, it is extremely beneficial for students to go outside of the studio and engage in physical courses such as yoga, Alexander technique, acting and dance. Instruments: Piano Keyboard

Studying the piano begins with the basics of theory and technique. I begin with repertoire, of course, right from the start as well! Then, as time goes on, the practice time and concentration develops further and being at the piano for both the enjoyment and learning process becomes an everyday part of one's life! I have recitals and many opportunities for students to perform when they are a part of my studio! Read More

There is no single definitive teaching method series. I try to tailor the method to the individual. For the beginning student, my personal favorite series is the Diller-Quaile because it offers a gradual and steady progression from basic to more complex. Also, the material presented is far more interesting than in most other collections. For a more advanced student, I generally assess their capabilities and very often introduce them to the Bach two and three part Inventions. Read More
