For more advanced students, I often recommend the Music for Millions Series or Bastien Piano Literature. For jazz, I often use Hal Leonard's "Your First Fake Book" and the "Joy of Jazz". I do this because because the top of each page has a diagram of how the notes on the staves as well as the diacritical marks are played on the piano. I recommend students who are beginners to utilize Alfred's Basic Piano Library Course (four levels) and Five-Star Solos, as these two method books have the organized systems and clear protocols to let players progress yet can review the fundamentals at the same time.
