My guitar playing is based on feeling, so every note that I play or write on a song has some meaning to me, I am not going to play whatever just to fill up space in your record or live shows. Keeping in mind that I am from Chile, I have a different spice in my sound that you can find in Latin American artists. I am a big fan of Cumbia, Bachata, and dancing rhythms that you dont commonly find in the USA. Read More

I am very flexible with my teaching methods and put together the best style matching the student's learning strengths. Furthermore, I update and change my methods if I feel the current method is becoming ineffective. I keep my lessons interactive with the student because the time is for the student to retrieve as much information as he/she can regarding their instrument and they can build a stronger week of preparation heading into the next lesson. Currently my most used methods are teaching via classical, pop & jazz, and Suzuki methods. Read More

Having received my first guitar on my 18th birthday, I never looked back. My initial interest in blues and rock music moved to include jazz and I took lessons from a professional jazz guitarist near my home in Kentucky. After several years of practicing 8 hours a day, I furthered my education with an AA in guitar performance from G.I.T. in Hollywood. Having tutored fellow students and taught privately, I am experienced in teaching all skill levels and genres of music. Read More

It is important for me that the student is motivated and enjoys the lesson since they have to keep loving playing and practicing at home everyday to be able to progress properly. Learning music as learning anything is about exploration and repetition. Once you understand something you have to be able to do it correctly a few times before moving on. This can only be achieved if there is a certain amount of practicing involved. Read More

I'm a music teacher with 8 years of teaching experience and 17 years of performing experience! I love sharing that experience with students of all ages to guide them on their musical journey. I achieved my bachelors degree of Music Performance at the Schwob School of Music studying percussion, and have performed with wind ensembles, orchestras, percussion ensembles, as well as popular music ensembles. I'm well-versed in classical studies, but love playing and teaching rock, pop, blues, funk, as well as fundamentals of music and practicing on a variety of different instruments. Read More

Setting realistic goals is definitely a good place to start. Also, I encourage transcribing music in small sections, and to always start slow and take deep breaths, as this will reduce the student's normal anxiety and has done wonders in my own playing as well. Using a rhythm reference like a metronome or a drum loop while practicing is also a must, at it helps develop the student's groove. Internalizing music by developing the student's ear is also a very important part of my teaching style as Is applicable in any genre (hear it before you play it!) Read More

My teaching philosophy is pretty simple and I describe it with these three words clear, direct, and creative. I believe that when it comes to teaching a teacher must be creative, since not all students learn the same way. Also a teacher must be simple and direct in his teachings. A lot of the times teachers tend to give too much information that goes over the head of the students. Read More
