I love teaching students of all ages a variety of instruments and styles...from 3 year old twins taking piano lessons to an 85 year old woman taking organ lessons. Each lesson is exciting discovering what we can learn together. I have toured all over the U.S throughout my life and am a singer/songwriter in the process of recording my 9th CD. I created an international tour that continuea every year.. I have taught students that are Billboard Music's Top 10 artists, Grammy Winners and American Music Award Winners, American Idol top 50, known child stars and actors on major TV Shows and sitcoms.
I have been teaching music lessons since I was a child when I started teaching my sisters how to sing. I have always enjoyed connecting with people through music and watching them blossom from the inside out. I have been a touring musician since I was 17 years old. I have many live performace, recording, live radio and TV performances and interviews that give me a wealth of knowlege to share with students that are aspiring Rock Star's to be. I believe that everyone of all ages can benefit from music lessons. Learning an instrument relieves stress and promotes optimal health. I believe that we are all creative being and music is a creative outlet. Researchers have found the acedemic potential of the student is increased by taking lessons for several years.
My philosophy is to teach the student what they want to learn while including basic music theory so that they know what they are doing and why. I plan performance opportunities for the students every couple of months.
I tailor my instruction to the students wants, needs and abilities. It's a creative environment every week and I make it fun and rewarding. We set goals for each week and I review what they want to learn on a regular basis. It has to be fun! When they are having fun they learn more, it's easier and they want to continue.
Taylor really likes Jannel and her lessons with her :)
