My love for music began at a very early age and I was blessed to realize, very soon, that it was my passion.I began performing at the age of 13 on clarinet, in voice, and on drums and percussion. Most of my early performance experience was obtained in church, school, and in my older brothers' Top 40 band. Learning drums at 11 and piano at 15, studying Music Composition at Cal Poly Pomona, I found I had different experiences with each instrument. I was the drummer for the band Euforia and enjoyed the performance aspect of playing this instrument. I love teaching because it teaches me more than I can ever learn from a piece of music. Seeing my student grow as a musician and as his/her own individual character/personality. I've taught students as young as 3 to college graduates who simply want to get some pieces under their fingers. I've also taught masterclasses to my mom's students and to students at UCLA, and I find that all of us connect in some way musically as we all love and cherish the same composers whose music we still play today. In understanding the motions your body has to make and repeating them like an athlete to get the same sound on the drum every time you hit a drum.
