Hello, I am a passionate and dedicated musician teacher with both a bachelors and masters degree from California Institute of the Arts. I am a composer and multi-instrumentalist and I am dedicated to teaching and helping my students succeed. Every student is different so I make a point to craft every lesson to the individual and help them obtain whatever it is they want to get out of music, whether it be to just learn a simple song they like, or to help guide and mentor them on their path to making music a career. Each lesson is personalized to the students needs. Their level, age and abilities, type of style that they are interested in learning, as well as how much practicing that they can commit to a week. I also like to incorporate music technology into teaching guitar. By using drum loops for instance and getting students to play chords and rhythm patterns along with loops, makes things more fun and dynamic! If a student wants to learn how to read, we will usually start with a simple method book as well as incorporating TAB into the lesson. Read More

I think that having a good frame of reference for what something is supposed to sound like makes being able to learn to play it a bit easier - no guessing! As progress is made we continue to learn more technique and theory, but always contextualizing with real word musical examples. I find that this not only helps the material stick, but also makes practicing much more engaging and fun! Read More

I began teaching quite early in my own guitar playing experience. Once I had the basics down, my friends would ask me to come to their house to show them how to play a few chords. It wasn't until close to 5 years ago when those friends kindly asked me to start teaching their children. It was then when I realized how much I loved teaching, so much in fact that I resigned from a cushy 9-5 office job to pursue teaching full time. Read More

I began teaching private lessons in electric guitar in 2016. I had been teaching to a wide range of students of different ages and musical backgrounds, from beginner to advanced. I have also taught in 2 musical schools (MUSA School of Music) and Los Olivos. Most of my students were mostly interested in Guitar Techniques and learning songs. In addition to that, I also teach Music Theory, Harmony, Arranging and Orchestration. It all sounds boring on paper but the core foundation of my teaching is that students must enjoy the journey of learning the instrument. Read More
