He has an undergraduate degree in music composition and theory, a Masters degree Jazz Studies with an emphasis in Guitar Performance, a Masters in Musicology, and he was a Doctoral Candidate in Musicology/ Ethnomusicology/ Jazz Studies at the University of Southern California.
