For any type of student, beginner or not, I focus on building the skills of the individual to create successes on their own. My goal is to provide the student with skills and abilities that not only will provide them with a fruitful musical life, but also allow them to transfer the ethics and habits to any other career. I also go in depth to reasoning and pedagogical reasoning for my explanations so that the student can engage in critical thinking and draw conclusions on their own. Read More

Since I'm focusing on voice lessons, I work with all students on being aware of their breathing. Having the right breathing patterns (since there are many varieties) is what can give you the edge and really bring out the best voice inside of you. Honestly, I mostly will give students recent pop songs that are good for the voice unless one is a stickler for classical songs, in which I sometimes use the 24 Italian Art Songs and Arias. Read More

My journey into the intricate world of audio over the past five years has been deeply rooted in passion. Freelance roles in renowned recording studios such as CSR, FTM, and CU Denvers Core have allowed me to manifest this passion as a producer and technician. I've translated this fervor into being an Audio Engineer for an array of artists including The Pace Makers, Summer Bedhead, Keddjra, Sara Flows, Totem Pocket, Moon Maze, Katie Yeager, Nicki Walters, Diego Frenkel, Fede Flaviano, Mak Dooley, and Alison Tas. The methods that I choose to use with my students depends on what they want to learn. Some students want to just play classical music, some pop, some jazz, some marching band, etc. Therefore I do not use the same teaching methods for all students. With that being said, I do make certain that all of my srudents understand the basic elements of music, i.e., time and key signatures, note values, melody, rhythm, harmony, pitch, intonation (if a wind instrument), form, theme and variation, etc. Read More

I believe that the best results will always come when students truly love what they are doing. Therefore, it is important to me to make sure that the class is enjoyable. I encourage students to set goals for themselves on what they need to accomplish at each lesson. Lastly, praise and acknowledgement must be given as much as possible. Sometimes, the error's you are making during a performance isn't about technique, but about self confidence. Read More

I personally practice SOVT, where we start with light humming, use a semi-occluded means of vocalizing (such as lip trills or a straw in water). Then we move on to actual vocalizations. I like to start with vocalizing in ways that are natural and allow the vocal instrument to practice its range freely. I also incorporate light movement along with vocalizing that might bring more breath into a region of the body that frees up a certain pitch (for example, lower back). Read More
