Our music lesson students will have the opportunity to take lessons from the comfort of their own home or in one of the teachers studios. Careful attention is placed on each student to ensure a custom lesson plan. Our music teachers understand that every student has different needs and abilities and therefore the lessons will be planned with that knowledge in mind.

For beginning students, I typically start with three separate methods for each instrument that are all offered on SmartMusic. A student may opt to use the books. One method works with tone, another deals with technique and the third one works rhythms. I then slowly integrate solo and ensemble repertoire which leads to your first performance. With beginning students, I tend to focus on the fundamentals for the instrument, and music. An adequate grasp of the fundamentals, along with consistent practice and rehearsal times, lead to a student expediting their abilities. At this point, I will start distributing solo repertoire/literature and duets. I always encourage my students to perform for one another and to their friends and family. I have seen what hard work and diligent practice schedule can produce, I have had students that teach at University and others play with "A" circut bands, and yet others have their own Guitar methods, web site and are very succesful! The greatest skill a teacher can have is determining how to relate the information in a way that causes the student to want to practice and become better. I started teaching music during college teaching private lessons part time 7 years ago. I focus on each individual according to their experience and push them beyond their initial limitations.
