I have been teaching music lessons as a music therapist since 2007 and have much experience with adapted lessons for students with developmental disabilities and other limitations.  I started teaching typical lessons in addition to adapted lessons in 2013 and it has been an added joy for me. I love teaching basic music lessons and music theory to children developing strong musical roots. I encourage a regular practice schedule for all of my students to help develop strong habits and engraving music in each of their lives. Later we get into reading and writing drum notes. Then we explore different genres, and styles of playing. This way the student can aim to play any song at-least 4-5 ways depending on what is required and what style and flavor they want to incorporate in their performance. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 5 years. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I like to emphasize for younger students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion for the instrument. I've also found that a combination of classical and modern music can go a long way in helping students enjoy the piano and motivate them to practice and continue to learn. Read More
