Overview:
I am a Nationally Certified Piano Teacher with decades of teaching experience. I provide personalized lessons to meet each student's unique musical desire and goals. I am known as a skillful and passionate instructor who care about each student. Hundreds of happy students have gained lifetime skills to enjoy their piano under my guidance. I graduated from Kunitachi Music College, one of the top conservatories in Japan, majoring piano performance. I also obtained certificates in jazz piano from Berklee College of Music, the top jazz school in the U.S.
EXPERIENCE
I have been teaching the piano for life. I started teaching when I was at conservatory as a Kawaii piano instructor. I also start performing as a pianist and singer pianist while in college. I continued to teach and perform after graduating from college. With decades of teaching experience, I have developed efficient and effective curriculums that students can learn properly and quickly. I focus on maximizing each student's capability while building a solid musical foundation so that the student can enjoy and share music for life.
METHODS USED
I teach from 4 years old to adults, novice to advanced levels. My lessons are totally personalized to meet each student's desire, needs and capability. The pace of the lessons should be adjusted for each student. I review and access each student's understanding and progress in each lesson, and design a personalized assignment and lesson plan for the next lesson. Acknowledging accomplishment makes the student confidence and fuel the student's desire to progress. Listening to the students is an important part of my teaching.
LESSON STYLE
I can accommodate various teaching style at the student and family's desire and needs. I don't believe in one-fits-all teaching style, as each student has unique personality, goals, and capability. My lessons start with student's questions or help needed so that we can work together. Students and parents are free to contact me outside of the lesson time for any help needed. Student and teacher work together to find the best teaching style. Learning the piano is a long-term project and investment, and requires a team work by the student, parents and teacher.
