I am passionate about providing a top quality private flute education. I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Music Education in 1994. I continued my flute studio and became a band director in 2000 and taught band in North and South Carolina until 2014. I worked on my masters degree in music eduation from the University of North Carolia at Pembroke and received 18 hours graduate credit. Marcela started teaching violin and viola when she was 18 years of age at Cartago's School of Music and the University of Costa Rica. Later on she created her private studio when she arrived in Texas in 2007 after finishing her music studies, which she continues to do until the present day . I earned Bachelor's and Master's degrees in 2008 and 2009 in Euphonium Performance and Music Education from the University of North Texas while studying with the renowned Dr. Brian Bowman. While there, I advanced to the final round of a United States Navy Band audition. From 2010-2019, I served as a band director in three different school districts in Texas; now I teach private lessons full-time in the North Dallas area.
