For beginning string student's, I use Essential Elements for Strings and Schroeder method books. Once the student has grasped the basic fundamentals and note reading, I begin to introduce solo repertoire from the Suzuki String method. Along with technical studies and solo repertoire, the student will learn scales ranging from one to four octaves. For beginning piano student's, I use the Bastein Piano series. This method is complete with a method book, solo repertoire, theory studies and scales. Read More

I like to think of my teaching styles and methods as very practical yet very encouraging and nurturing. The best way to ingrain a new concept or idea I have found is to teach someone a practical way in how to use it, usually through learning a new song or exercise which expands their horizons and outlook on things. Nothing invigorates me more than to see students get excited when they finally understand or grasp something I have taught them. Read More

Most of all I enjoy sewing the seed of passion that I received when I began playing my first guitar at the age of 8, and nurturing that which has brought me to love and enjoy the music I experience everyday of my life. I hope that everyone of my students gets out of the each lesson exactly what they came for and more. For the younger beginning students, I usually start with Alfred's Beginning Piano Series. Once the student has a grasp of the fundementals, I will begin introducing major and minor scales as well as solo repertoire. For my adult students I will see their level of ability and musical interests, find appropriate material based on their taste and formulate the lesson to include fun stuff as well as build proper mechanics. For my horn lessons depending on the skill level I being with Essential Elements or the Arban book and build from there incorporating solos of the greats, and songs that they want to learn to play. It not only soothes me but after I play a few songs, I feel a whole lot better and am able to tackle on my next task. You know how everyone needs a getaway from time to time? Piano has always been my getaway. Unfortunately, it is too big for me to carry around but luckily, I have one in my bedroom that I can walk over to whenever I need it most. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Flute Clarinet
I like to play audio/recordings for the students when possible, so that the student has an idea of the style, or the piece that we are studying. This gives them something to reference to, but also gives them an aural aspect in their playing/practice habits. I also model for them constantly, so that they get more visual and aural reinforcement. I sometimes give them short music concept/vocabulary assignments, such as learning the names of the notes on the staff, counting rhythms, meters, etc; all having to do with music theory and musical concepts that can be directly applied to their practical aspect of playing. If you weren't a musician what do you think you'd be doing instead?
Something related with Animals or plants
I could be a cook.
I could be an Actor
I could be a writer
A Film Director.
Philosopher.
Scientist.
I would love to be a painter or work with art. It has to be related with creativity and freedom. There is a lot of occupations that I would love to do. I would study chemistry and physics. Also if I wasn't a musician I would love to be a dancer and go in life enjoying different types of music and movements. Another thing that I encounter very fun is sports as Racquet Tennis, Baseball, Swimming and running.
What is your favorite style/genre of music to play and why?
All of the in their own styles. My favorites I can say
Classical
I like Classical because of all the richness of styles and composers. I think all the posibilities of amazing music coming from composers that really worked hard in their styles and ideas.
Latin styles coming from Cuba, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Spain, Argentina and brasil. I like this music because has great rhythms and soul. Music to dance is generally happy and simple music.
I like Modern music as Rock, Funk, Jazz, Regueae because it brings the new sounds from synthesizers and electric guitars that make the music special
If you play more than one instrument, how did you decide to start playing the second? (Or 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc)!
I started with Guitar and then Voice. My 3rd instrument was the keyboard. I started cause I had a very good friend that was a good Piano player. When I saw him play I always ask him things about the keyboard. He recommended me some piano methods that I bought. I started practicing keyboard but it was a hooby for me. I always focused more in the guitar and the Voice. Also I started to play other string instruments as the electric Guitar, the Cavaquinho, the puerto rican cuatro, Requinto Guitar, Bass guitar. Then I was a good piano player. For what I decided to keep following my heart and bought an student trumpet an alto SAx, a Soprano Sax. I bought a flute because I really liked and in a spiritual session they asked us to meditate breathing as we were playing a flute. Also musician friends inspired me for the drum set and percussion.
Does music run in your family? Tell us a little about your musical family members.
Not that much but it did. My dad wasn't a professional musician but he was a very good singer and play good guitar. Also he could be in some groups were they gather for fun or because he was playing for a band of the school. Also the sister of my that she is not a musician but she recognizes and like to hear good music. I was a child and usually child's can't appreciate sometimes classical music. Is a little to serous and complicated for their taste. You need a guide that start sharing you jewels in the classical music and you find amazing music.
When did you decide to become a professional musician? Was it a gradual decision or was there a defining moment for you?
I always knew I wanted to be a musician. My family in general are more in to business. I didn't have no body from my family to guide me in to what is it to work fully as a musician. Anyway I always wanted to give my life to the music. My parents told me they support me in Music after I finish another career that is more in to the business. I studied marketing before I did my music careers. It wasn't gradual decision. I always knew and I never would regret of doing it. Music has way more magic than people from outside can see.
