I've performed at weddings, select collegiate groups in symphonic and choral ensembles. We covered styles ranging from Baroque to Modern Jazz. Since then, I've experiemented with EDM and folk music. I create my own custom lesson plans based on the needs and goals of each student. Usually, when a student first comes to my studio I listen to them sing a series of exercises and then a song so that I can get a good idea of where they are in their vocal development. I usually begin teaching fundamentals of breath and posture and resonant space in the first few lessons, but then build upon that with specific exercises and repertoire that fits each student's needs. My teaching experience dates back to the early 1990's when I taught as an Adjunct Voice Instructor at Frank Phillips College in Borger, TX. I found this to be a fulfilling and rewarding experience as I taught freshman and sophomore voice students the fundamentals of proper vocal production through the learning of appropriate repertoire. I believe communication is of the upmost importance. I communicate with parents to let them know how the student is doing, what we are working on, and what to do next. As mentioned above, I tailor to my student's needs based on their understanding and pace. Some students move a little slower than others in certain areas, and some move faster.
