I firmly believe that every serious student of music will eventually discover their unique gifting. I feel that most aspects of music can be taught to anyone, but as their education progresses, the student and their family will begin to see the areas in which they truly excel. I have found it very rewarding to see what emerges as the "rough stone" of a musician is polished with training and loads of encouragement! Read More

My teaching experience began at a young age. I started volunteering lessons for the youth in my church. I played keyboard on the worship team for several years and some youth students showed interest so I would teach them every now and then. In 2017, I started teaching private lessons at a studio in Fort Worth. I really started to enjoy it, and as I kept on teaching for years to come (going on 6 years now), I've just fallen in love with it! Read More

I am very passionate about tailoring each lesson and even the way I approach each student to that student's skill level as well as personality. I am invested in my students' lives and endeavor to make sure that my studio is a place where they feel understood, appreciated, and safe. I allow students to have an active role in selecting their own repertoire so that they find pieces they really adore. Read More

I've been teaching music for more than 12 years now. I can honestly say that I enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge of music. Not everyone can say that they truly enjoy their job so I feel blessed. I have taught hundreds of students ranging from ages 4 to 80! I have taught individuals, groups or online lessons. During the pandemic I was lucky to I keep working because of zoom lessons. I don't know what I would have done without zoom lessons. Read More

For me, the most amazing aspect of teaching music is to assist students in developing a musical identity of their own. Nothing could be a greater blessing than to experience students cultivating a personal and profound relationship with the magic of music firsthand, and to be there to help them to further their passion is a gift beyond what I am capable of expressing in words. By sharing the musical knowledge I have gathered throughout my life in lessons that are dynamic and adaptable yet consistent in terms of supporting students' growth, it is my intention to help to nourish students' own love for music, just as others have inspired me to do the same. I love to watch singers reach their full potential by helping them find their true singing voice and perform with confidence and freedom! I began performing at age three and have sung and played different styles and genres for different audiences ever since. My foundational training is in classical voice, earning my Bachelors of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Mississippi in 1991. I was then awarded an Apprenticeship with the Knoxville Opera and a Graduate Teaching Assistantship at the University of Tennessee, where I earned my Masters of Music in Vocal Performance in 1993. As I have previously stated, I tailor my lessons to each individual student in order to maximize their learning potential. Yes, I do usually assign one piece that will be good for them to learn even if it is not their favorite song to play, but the rest of the time I make sure that it is music they are going to enjoy. If a student loves Disney songs, then you can bet that's going to be an assignment. Read More
