Originally from Dallas, TX, I was always interested in music but never thought of it as more than a hobby. I was a solo performer playing shows around the Dallas/Fort Worth area and in a popular Salsa band for years before I finally decided to get back into school and see where this musical journey would take me. My teaching experience began when I completed my degree in Music Education 10 years ago. Since that time I have been teaching private lessons to students of all ages. As a teacher, I believe it is my job to meet my students where they are in their development, and prescribe exercises, repertoire, and information that will help the student with each of their individual needs and goals. I use classical technique as a foundation for healthy singing, but absolutely love performing and teaching many other genres of music. Read More

This allows me to demonstrate styles while watching the student's enbouchure, posture, angles, and instrument position from every angle. During my college years, I was a scholarship singer at First Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Sam Houston State University Chorale. Past experiences include singing with the UTB/TSC Master chorale, with which he performed at the Texas Music Educators Association. I have experience teaching guitar lessons and performing at the Alpha Omega Academy in Huntsville, Texas. My first and foremost goal is to inspire a student to want to learn and thrive in their instrument. If I can do this, my job along with theirs, becomes that much easier. I try and do this by heavily incorporating the music that they identify the most with while strengthening their technique with a classical foundation. And, introduce a well-rounded set of incentives for each of their accomplishments. After receiving my jazz performance degree from Rutgers University in 2010, I put together a studio of several dedicated students in New Jersey while performing in the New York Metro area with ensembles ranging from big bands to funk and soul groups. During that time, I also helped create several music education programs and camps in Red Bank and Asbury Park, and was instructed players of all skill levels, helping them improve their skills. I love working with children and helping them discover the piano and the joy of playing music. I graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Pedagogy and have been teaching ever since. I am an active member of the Richardson Music Teachers Association, which affords many musical opportunities for my students.
