I am a professional licensed educator, as well as, a mother of two grown children, both of which influence my teaching method. My style is individualized to the student's personality - what works for one may not work for another. One student may be very driven to learn theory and do written homework, while another may find written homework to be agonizing but love learning new pieces of music - I will work with both styles, with the same result - each student learns to play the instrument and learns the required theory to be able to play the piano, while hopefully enjoying it along the way! I then went into private teaching in 2009, and have been teaching student of all ages at their homes. Homework is always needed because being able to play piano is the goal of the students.I will have my students practice etude, sonata/sonatina,polyphony pieces and modern pieces at the same time. While there, I advanced to the final round of a United States Navy Band audition.
