I am currently employed in East County as the choral and band director for an incredible middle school. Before that I was the director of music, bands, choirs, and performing arts in Harrison, New Jersey, right outside New York City. Its important I learn the personality and learning style of the student. The methods that I use will be outlined to you before the first lesson. Beginning students learn rudiments and work into repertoire of their own interest as time moves along. Intermediate students and beyond learn should indicate any interests they have musically to have a supplement to lesson materials. I encourage my students to participate in Music Teacher National Association competitions, festivals, and other events when appropriate. I have taught private trombone lessons while I was attending University of North Texas and taught trombone and piano for another private music company. I make sure to keep active on my trombone by playing in as many bands as possible and encourage my students to do the same.
