I am very fortunate to have studied privately with many great teachers with varied teaching styles and philosophies which has helped me become a well-rounded educator.  I have also had the orpportunity to perform with numerous ensembles throughout the United States and around the world. I have taught private students at the beginning, intermediate, and college level as well as coached brass students at several middle schools and high schools throughout southern California, and I currently maintain a private teaching studio. After I first received my Bachelor's Degree from CSU Fullerton, I opted to showcase my original music through distinct outlets. I try to have as much fun as possible while still maintaining a high expectiation of performance.  I am, by trade and training, a comedian, so jokes and laughter abound. Most of my students might say I'm not as funny as I think I am, but we still have fun! I am, however a stickler for learning the basics of music theory and correct use of vocabulary. All of my students, depending on age, go through my curriculum which not only focuses on solo repertoire but learning how to be an essential part of any ensemble. I make sure I plan individual lessons and create overall schemes of work for my pupils so they can develop knowledge of materials and repertoire for them at different stages of their musical development. I extend my own musical experience by becoming familiar with the music my pupils listen to and music that is assigned from their primary music instructor, as well as have them become familiar with other musical styles and by developing improvisation and vocal skills.
