I have been playing professionally since 2018, with performances all over LA ranging from jazz combos to salsa bands. I also have notable performances such as opening for The Marias (2018), and recording trombone for BTS on their hit song, "ON" (2019). Since then I performed with Who's Bad: The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band, and my own hip-hop/soul band The Urban Sophisticates. My approach to learning an instruments is to have the students learn to play by ear first before they can start learning to read music. I find that most students are able to progress quickly because it frees them to focus on the playing the instruments rather than reading notes. I've played trombone for eleven years and have stuck with it for love of the instrument. I attended the LA County High School for the Art for three years, through which time I became serious about learning music. I went on to earn the Bob Cole Conservatory Scholarship at CalState Long Beach. My favorite courses were Brass Chamber Music and my various music history courses.
