I love seeing students really getting into their lessons. The excitement and seeing the light bulb go off when they finally get it and are able to put all parts together. I wouldn't treat my students all the same as I know that some students learn at their own pace. At the initial lesson, we will work on goals and identifying the level that the student is at. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level.
