For beginners and young children, I generally demonstrate and have them practice breathing and certain terminology before we begin singing. Once we begin singing, I use the keyboard and have them practice matching pitch. We then do warm ups, and I teach them a couple phrases that will help with pronunciation and shaping their mouths to make certain sounds. For everyone, after we go over our usual warm ups, I like to find out their actual style and taste in music. Read More

In addition to keeping my skills presentable, these excursions have also provided me with the opportunity to interact with other musicians, young and old alike, with whom I have been able to share my talents and in return, pick up new ones, instruction being one of them. I teach mainly from my home - it is a humble abode, but I find it sufficient for my musical purposes; my current collection of musical instruments encompasses 7 types, 4 of which I am able to offer lessons on. Along with classroom teaching, I've taught voice, guitar, ukulele, piano and group music classes throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. I'm currently working towards a PA K-12 Education Certification. As a classically trained Tenor, I've performed numerous operatic roles ranging from “Rinuccio” in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi to “Apollo” in Monteverdi's L'orfeo. Read More

I love to listen and play music very much, so I try to encourage independence in my students so that they can play what they enjoy and love. I encourage them to listen to how they play by playback recordings, humming to the tunes using their voice even when playing an instrument, so that they can listen and feel their own music. This will encourage them to increase their confidence during performance, lessen their fears and improve their motivation to be a better musicians in the future. Read More

I began teaching private lessons since last 3 years. I encourage everyone to get basic classical training first to have perfect pitch. I encourage my students to enter competition, recitals and also give music exams. I also encourage them to improvise on the idea or on the song. I also encourage them to listen to good music as one also learns many things by listening.. Regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of the key points I always emphasize for all students, as it tends to help the student progress and gain a passion. Read More

I want to make sure that you are expressing yourself in the healthiest and easiest way possible so that the music can speak louder than the workings of your technique. If nobody knows you are working hard, you're doing it right! Read More
