I'm a dedicated instructor who finds joy in working with students to find the highest level of musicianship they can achieve. I graduated from world renowned Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy. I have had the opportunity to play in multiple countries such as Canada, South Korea, Philippines, and the U.S.A and build experience as a musician. Most of all, I love to share my knowledge in music with others and help them grow as musicians. Read More

For someone with no experience on guitar I'll typically begin with scales, and familiarizing with the guitar. For bass; exactly the same as guitar to start, drums would start with with your basic 2,4 beat, and familiarization with parts (snare, hi hat, etc). Vocalist I would always start with a warm up, basics, and note reciting. For keyboard beginners I would show them their A,B,C's as far as how to access those, and we'd start messing with different shapes, and songs almost right away. Read More

When it comes to teaching, I find the most important thing is that we work towards the goal of what the student wants to learn - in the case of their preferred styles/genres of music, and the songs that they really enjoy. Every student has their own individual skill level and pace that can be developed and worked around. First, I would find out the level of skill and musical interests of the student, then I would create a lesson plan utilizing all of the tools at my disposal - both from my personal experience and from other educational sources, such as: Blues books, Rock books, Classical guitar/piano books, theory books, and tablature books, or music from popular bands. My expertise is in teaching modern guitar performance, vocals, music technology, songwriting, audio engineering, and music production.  I emphasize practicing and encourage students to have fun with music.  Every student learns at their own pace, yet I find that setting short term and long term goals help greatly in my students' progress. *** Travel Equipment *** I can provide keyboard and recording equipment. I expect my students to be able to provide their own guitar for lessons. Read More

For beginning students, I try to figure out what if any familiarity with the instrument or connected genres the student already has and plan to orient lessons around that. If they're absolute beginners with no specific interests yet, as is often the case with children, I focus on teaching fundamentals of the instrument's technique, music theory relevant to reading sheet music and understanding scales, keys, and time signatures. If it seems like it would help I'd move on to the Suzuki method or at least to simple songs and etudes. Read More

Instruments: Guitar

I have been playing the guitar for about 13 years and have been teaching for about 4 years. My teaching experience began in college as I taught private lessons to other students and even some faculty. Since I graduated school, I began working in a music production and recording studio where I teach music lessons and help artists produce and record their own music. I am a very patient instructor who likes to bring in all sorts of knowledge and fun into the classroom! Read More

I began teaching Guitar and Piano during college as a way to expand my playing and teaching skills. Over the years I gained extensive knowledge of teaching techniques and how to work with students at all levels, ages, backgrounds, and understanding of theoretical music application. I handle my students with care, respect, and motivate them through positive reinforcement of their milestones while learning. Moreover, I have taught guitar and piano to over 200 students in the last decade - many have pursued careers in music, and some have even surpassed my accomplishments. Read More

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
