Each lesson begins with a chat while we gently stretch, breathe and prepare your body to sing. Singers are attached to their instrument and so getting your mind focused and getting comfortable in the singing space allows us to have as productive a lesson as we can. We work on vocalizes and technique next- to properly warm you up and strengthen your instrument. I have always been selected to be the section leader in choir or the vocal coach in my casts and it has allowed me to better understand how we learn as musicians and Ive taken that with me into my own private studio. I have recently learned bass guitar as well. I encourage students to practice at least 20-30 minutes a day because even that little amount of time makes all the difference. I also love to incorporate creativity in my lessons with songwriting and improvisation. I also encourage students to participate in recitals as well. I then took a year to work in the industry at several regional musical theater and opera houses domestically and internationally.
