I decided to focus more on drums and percussion because it offered more in terms of opportunities to perform in school bands and orchestras. In high school, my friends and I formed our own band. Long-term goals may have to do with technique--for voice, examples may be releasing tension or singing with proper breath support. I will give assignments and create goals but also want the student to be self motivated. I will not be overly strict when it comes to practice.
