For beginning students I like to teach basic techniques. Scales, breathing, knowledge etc. Once the student starts to get comfortable with the beginning stages I introduce songs that I believe will challenge their voice. I listen, critique, and offer knew options of note placement & tone. My goal is not to change the way the student sings but to enhance it and clean it up.
