I try to approach each student as an individual. Every student has their own level of enthusiasm, patience, willingness, and availability. Learning music should always be fun and rewarding first and foremost. I believe in building a good teacher/student relationship and pushing my students beyond what they believe their limits are. Learning music is a never ending process. I want my students to be able to learn and grow outside of the lesson room. Read More

I only have one aim on why I teach. I want to see my students bring out the best in them, see their strength in their talent, be inspired and motivated, be able to find their own niche and ultimately become better performers. Just seeing them grow in the passion they've chosen is a huge accomplishment for me. I believe that in teaching, I am learning as well. Sharing my passion to someone who is very passionate in their craft inspires me to even teach more. Read More

I always start with applicable musical theory to help the student understand the basics of piano and what are the proper techniques to play the instrument. The same applies to voice lessons. After a student is able to read music on the basic level and knows the placement of notes on the scale, we proceed to the basic repertoire and practice. Each student is individual, so based on the pace I create a schedule, which always includes implementing the learnt material more and more, so that student can perform basics automatically correct. Practice is ideal for each student. I encourage my students in their practicing. Progress will be made most quickly by those students who maintain the recommended practicing time (1 hour per day). Parents are also encouraged to be involved in their students practice. Taking the time to listen to your child play their weekly songs, or creating a set time for practicing in the students daily routine are good ways to become involved. Read More

Singing is about expressing yourself, not about fitting into "molds." I'm interested in helping you find YOUR voice. Because of this, I use a highly individualized method of teaching, adapting my approach based on your wants and needs. If you want to sing classical music, let's sing classical music. If you want to get into pop or rock genres, let's rock out. With this in mind, my number one objective is to help you grow and develop towards your goals in a way that's both healthy and sustainable. Nothing is more rewarding to me than playing a role in the artistic development of young singers. I love being able to help my students gain confidence in their abilities and reach their goals. One of my greatest goals as a teacher is to instill a lifelong love of music in each of my students. While singing takes practice and discipline, it should also be a lot of fun. I strive to create an encouraging environment where students can express themselves, embrace challenges, and not be afraid to make mistakes or try new things. Read More

Having taught well over 300 students over the last 10 years, Jason does not subscribe to any one particular method of teaching, no matter if it's guitar, voice or bass. The pursuit of music and creativity is unique to each individual and, therefore, each individual needs to be taught differently to help them discover and maximize their own abilities.Jason is a highly accomplished musician who believes that learning to read music and understand music theory is vastly important, but doesn't use the same approach, resources, books, etc. for each student.
