I am a passionate performer and teacher who loves sharing my love for music with students. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing and Vocal Performance. I continued my training at Manhattan School of Music and received my Master of Music in Voice in 2016. All of my students work on tried and true Bel Canto and Swedish techniques. I will give each student special vocal exercises to work on at home. I simply give homework so as to remind what their path is and what is the best method to achieve their goals. I believe that while there are certain immutable principles to how the voice functions, these principles need to be tailored to the particular instrument each student has as well as their nature, and how they wish to express themselves musically. Additionally much of the student teacher dynamic is based on a common vocabulary. For piano students ages 5-9, I generally use the Faber and Faber Piano Adventures series. For piano ages 10-12 I use the Older Beginner series. My teen and adult students normally work out of and Adult All in One series. For more advanced piano students Ill work repertoire, theory and scales/technique as needed/desired by the student. I was the director of Music at Saints John and Paul school in Larchmont as well. While there, the students and I performed many successful concerts. The children also enjoyed learning the art of singing and how to read music. I am a passionate musician and I believe in the power of music to heal, create joy and to bring people together.
