Most important to my teaching is that each student to listens to a lot of music, and learns to play the music that they love as soon as possible. I work with a variety of method books/videos depending on skill level and stylistic interest, and teach time-tested regimens for building raw ability on the instrument. From my experience, every time I learn a new thing I get excited and that's how I want my students to feel, EXCITED. My approach to teaching is solely based on vocal placement and having a great time. I encourage my students to mimic their favorite artists and or artist that they are not familiar with. This enables the students to loosen the tension in the voice and to get out of their comfort zones. I graduated from the Royal College of Music with a Master of Performance in Voice and I also hold a Bachelor Degree in Music from Northwestern University where I studied voice, musicology, and lyric languages.
