Every student is different, especially when it comes to vocal training, so I tailor my lesson plans according to each individual student's ability and needs. I begin with the basics of breath control and work to help each student find their natural voice. I use different vocal exercises to help improve tone and range and then incorporate what we've learned from those exercises into singing songs. There I also studied voice pedagogy and have been volunteering as a voice teacher for kids and teenagers who can not afford lessons. I then ask them to perform anything of their choice to assess their ability level (if applicable). I started teaching when I was about 15 years old, I lead a dance group and choreographed a 50 min show about african heritage in North and South American cultures. It was a big project and it helped me realize how much I loved teaching. From then on I've taught several subjects from dance, to Spanish and voice lessons.
