I began studying music at age 10.  By twelve years old I began serious study and practice on the piano.  By 15 I was playing weekly church services on both organ and piano.  I attended both Rutgers College and Berklee School of Music in Boston, where I continued my studies in piano, jazz composition and arranging, voice and performance. I make sure the music is appropiate for the age and level of each student. I am a charismatic and vivacious voice instructor who believes one voice can change the world! As a recent graduate from the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, I am trained in all aspects of the performing arts. Throughout high school I sang classically, and continued studying the style of musical theater. Through these classes I learned both about the pedagogy of healthy singing and of productive teaching. I truly believe that having a good classical foundation will take a student far. All of my students work on tried and true Bel Canto and Swedish techniques. I will give each student special vocal exercises to work on at home. I generally assign songs from The 24 Italian Songs and Arias songbook and I use Musical Theater Anthologies. Some of my more advanced High School students work on Opera arias. Read More
