I find ways to hone in on technique through song choices, visualization, the lyrics/text, poetry. Asking why a student is attracted to a specific song, pointing out some patterns of why they may like it, talking through the emotions behind it, or what it brings up and layering those "performance qualities" with simple techniques. I can teach opera, musical theatre and pop as well as songwriting and music theory. Besides finding the voice, I also do personal development coaching and confidence training. Aural awareness is improved through ear exercises singing. Techniques for performance practice and dealing with performance anxiety are addressed.
