I began teaching in 2013 during my studies in singing. I prepared my students for auditions and entrance examinations at performing schools and music universities. I can teach opera, musical theatre and pop as well as songwriting and music theory. Besides finding the voice, I also do personal development coaching and confidence training. For my piano students, I like to use a mixture of books from the Alfred, Bastien, and John W. Schaum collections. I eventually assign more advanced solo repertoire as the student progresses. For my vocal students, I pick music based on their interests and vocal qualities. I have taught my students musical theater, opera, art song, gospel, pop, and many other styles throughout the years. I also like to make sure my students have a solid understanding in music theory and often give out worksheets that help them practice how to sight read, recognize different key signatures, and more. I began teaching at the Erie Playhouse Summer Youtheatre Camp on my summers home from college. The students were ages 5-16 and we taught them basic music theory, as well as numerous musical theater and jazz standards throughout the week. We focused on proper vocal technique and placement as well as theory. In New York City, I taught babies and toddlers for a company called MoonSoup. I first began teaching private music lessons in high school when I taught my neighbors' children. I continued teaching through my undergraduate degree and loved it so much that I decided to make it a career and am now getting my advanced certificate in vocal pedagogy to further my knowledge and be the best voice teacher I can be.
