Singing is all about breathing techniques. No matter your age or vocal development, it is imperative that one learns how to breathe correctly. After teaching proper breathing techniques, I introduce many fundamentals of music, such as simple vocal warm ups and sight singing exercises. Of course, as we move into repertoire choices, I always try to find out what my students are interested in singing. I have sung a wide variety of singing styles in my day, so I feel confident in teaching whatever repertoire my students choose to sing. Read More

Because I feel music is more of an expression before it is a discipline, I am a strong believer in giving tools of discipline as they are needed, rather than forcing a student into a rigor just because it worked for a different student with a different personality.
