Hi! I'm Maeve. I am a professional soprano with 13 years of instruction and 4 years of paid experience as a performer under my belt. Since 2011, I have attended voice programs at Interlochen Center for the Arts, Brevard Music Center, and VOICExperience, and I regularly work in churches and sing weddings. I recently graduated from the University of Kentucky, where I studied with Dr. Dennis Bender. My method of teaching trumpet for begginers and advanced students is to first make certain the embouchure is correctly formed, the breathing is correct and the instrumentis held correctly. I'll have the student play for me to detect any areas of concern and consequently I generate lesson plans accordingly. I will introduce drills, etudes and solo pieces at the given time of apparent progress in the areas of concern. I studied percussion under Dr. Koontz at Eastern Kentucky University, where I learned to play all sorts of different styles ranging from classical to global. I performed with Eastern Kentucky University's percussion ensemble on various instruments ranging from vibes to marimba, concert snare, and even pan. Soon after, I auditioned for a World Class Indoor Percussion ensemble in Lexington, Kentucky, where I grew exponentially under the tutelage of world-famous instructors such as Nick Angelis and Zach Schlicher. I strive to set realistic goals and encourage my students to set realistic goals for themselves! This gives them an eagerness to learn because it is within their grasp. For example, If someone has a goal to be on american idol one day, I will have him/ her set a smaller goal to get there such as breath support or intonation.
