My method of teaching trumpet for begginers and advanced students is to first make certain the embouchure is correctly formed, the breathing is correct and the instrumentis held correctly. I'll have the student play for me to detect any areas of concern and consequently I generate lesson plans accordingly. I will introduce drills, etudes and solo pieces at the given time of apparent progress in the areas of concern. I began teaching piano my sophomore year of college. During my college career, I built up a studio of nearly 20 students, tutored college-level piano courses, and worked as a Teacher's Assistant in Sight Singing and Aural Training. Since then, I taught for two years at a Summer Music Conservatory in Texas, led week-long keyboard intensive seminars throughout Western Kenya, and most recently, taught at the nation's largest piano conservatory.
