Instruments: Piano Voice
I always start my lessons off with vocal exercises in order to assess the status of the voice and what we need to work on, and also what progress has been made since our last session, if any. In order to keep my students interested, I like to work on repertoire that theyre interested in and that they select. I definitely suggest pieces that I think might help practice areas of their vocal technique that they would like to improve, but I also want to make sure its music that they like and want to sing. For young and/or beginner vocalists, I focus on classical fundamentals, as they are the roots for success in all genres. This means working on breath support and learning about vowel placement. The next step would then be developing and strengthening the singers vocal range and repertoire. For adults and/or more experienced vocalists, I focus on what the student is trying to accomplish and help them move towards their goals. Read More
Instruments: Voice
My method is to find common ground with the student so that they can relax. Relaxation, emotional and physical, is very important for singing. After that, I teach breath support, vowels, style and languages. I speak 5 Western languages and some Mandarin Chinese. I enjoy showing how to use vowels within technique to be consistent and keep your voice healthy. I think how I teach is holistic, fun, and supportive. Whether studying for a school competition, an exam from Trinity or Royal Academy, or preparing for an audition, I will do my best to prepare you for success. Read More

For all my students, including vocalists, I always try to keep things enjoyable with mixed repertoire assignments. Even at beginner levels, I've seen some of my students cover the songs thattheywant to learn. I didn't learn to sing and play the piano by being forced to play songs I didn't enjoy as a listener. The key is finding music that is both challengingto create andfun as heck to perform. Specifically as a vocal teacher and overall vocal performance enthusiast, I rely on contemporary ear training as the key method to my teaching style. Read More

I try to approach each student as an individual. Every student has their own level of enthusiasm, patience, willingness, and availability. Learning music should always be fun and rewarding first and foremost. I believe in building a good teacher/student relationship and pushing my students beyond what they believe their limits are. Learning music is a never ending process. I want my students to be able to learn and grow outside of the lesson room. Read More

I first began teaching in 2012, when I gave volunteer drum lessons. Shortly after that, I began giving piano and voice lessons both in schools and one-on-one. Currently, when I'm not teaching private lessons, I work part-time as a traveling pre-school music teacher, where I teach preschoolers music with my guitar, picture books, and even puppets! I am comfortable teaching students of all ages but prefer young children, as they can benefit the most from developing a passion for their instrument, which can lead to a lifelong pursuit of music. Instruments: Voice
It really doesn't matter how quickly or slowly does a person learn. What matters is it's done positively and it should be lively! We are making music and it shouldn't end up becoming boring, sad or depressing! I ensure that the student enjoys every moment of the lesson. The only thing I request all students is to find some time to practise. That is the only way that we can get what we want. Read More
